Almost a month after news broke that Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus had separated following one year of marriage, the Victoria’s Secret angel has filed for divorce.

Australian-born Shanina, who has been a Victoria’s Secret model since 2011, reportedly filed paperwork in Los Angeles County Court earlier this week requesting a dissolution of their 12-month union on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, TMZ reports.
Shanina is seeking spousal support, and court documents say a prenup is in place.
After becoming engaged on Lenny Kravitz’s private island in 2015, the 28-year-old catwalk queen married the 35-year-old musician in an idyllic ceremony in the Bahamas in April last year, followed by celeb-studded parties in Miami and New York City.
But according to Page Six sources the marriage started to crumble in March of this year.
A rep for Shanina told E! News: “After careful thought and consideration, Shanina Shaik and Greg Andrews [DJ Ruckus] have decided to separate. They move forward with much mutual respect and love for each other, and ask to please respect their privacy during this time.”
The couple have not appeared on Shanina’s social media together since January, but were photographed in New York on May 16 looking loved up and in high spirits.
They also attended the Coachella music festival in Indio, California together in April.
Yesterday, Shanina took to Instagram to share a pensive photo, standing alone in a picturesque cobbled street covered in flowers.
The Melbourne native captioned the shot: “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.”
Shanina’s stylist and friend Dani Michelle left a black love heart in the comments section with the words: “Love you angel.”
