The 28-year-old was slammed by fans of the show on social media for his treatment of fiancé Tallena, 28.

However, now the show has finished and the couple has married, Brad and Tallena have claimed Brad has been unfairly targeted on social media.

‘The experiment was difficult, beyond words. Not to mention the backlash we received after such an incorrect portrayal of Brad,’ Tallena wrote on the couples’ Instagram.

‘Train your mind to only see the positives in every situation. Having to cop the backlash of Brad’s ‘character’ and be labeled as a women basher, we were both struggling, upset, angry and depressed. We didn’t even want to show our faces in public. But it’s now our time to tell our story, hence the Insta account.’

Brad and Tallena also claim they were tricked into what the show would actually be about.

‘Out of desperation to save our relationship and the ridiculously high cost of therapy sessions we applied for a show called relationship rescue that was designed to rekindle the spark in your relationship,’ the wrote on Instagram.

‘Working alongside therapists we thought we would be doing this together. Boy were we shocked when we got moved into a house with the opposite sex and only one bed! I cannot even begin to explain how hard this was for us but we got through it stronger then ever!’
