Sunrise favourite Samantha Armytage’s raunchy gaffe about the Cook Islands on yesterday’s show has come back to haunt her, with the host receiving two decidedly in-your-face propositions during a live cross to the steamy tropical paradise.
Samantha, who had accidentally referred to the popular holiday destination as ‘the C*ck Islands,’ was joking about the slip up with co-host David Koch today, before throwing to weather man Sam Mac.

‘Another thing I’ve said that my end up on the blooper real. I’m scared, can we go to Sam Mac?’ Samantha joked, little knowing what was to come.
Added Kochie: ‘Sam Mac is in the Cook, with a double O, Islands, with all your weather today!’
Waiting for the cross with a group of Cook Island musicians, Sam asked the men if they had a message for Samantha.
‘Just to the ladies, Samantha, when you come to the Cook Islands, there is a whole lot of “what you said yesterday” waiting for you,’ the musician blurted.
Sam seemed to take the comment with humour, adding, ‘A lot of cooks’ as Kochie and Mark Beretta laughed.
But Natalie Barr looked less amused, as another musician joined in, commenting, ‘Samantha, whenever you’re ready come to the Cook Islands and we’ll give you a good time!’
The embarrassing run of events began yesterday as Samantha threw to an earlier segment.
‘Sam Mac, you’ve had a humdinger this morning in the C*ck Islands,’ began Samantha, before realising exactly what she had just said, quickly correcting herself by blurting, ‘Cook Islands.’
Samantha and the team then dissolved into laughter, with the spotlight turning to Sam Mac, who was standing in an outdoor shower recess at one of the tropical destination’s top resorts.
‘Well I mean I can either pretend that didn’t just happen, or I could just enjoy it,’ he cheekily replied, before crumbling into gales of laughter.
‘That actually just happened…. Hi ABC!’
Always the professional, Sam then composed himself enough to the promote a travel deal to the islands.
Whether travel to the destination now spikes or declines remains to be seen.
