Receiving his knighthood from Prince William at Buckhingham Palace for his services to music and charity, Rod was truly chuffed by the honour. And chatting with her Majesty The Queen only added to the thrill!

‘It feels wonderful, it really, really does. It’s mind-blowing,’ said the 71-year-old.

With his wife Penny Lancaster and their two boys Alastair, 10, and Aiden, five, watching on with pride, Rod said Wills asked him if he expected to continue his music career.

‘I said yes because I’ve got eight children, I haven’t got much option, and he just said it was well deserved… It’s been a long and wonderful afternoon,’ he said.
