In May, a settlement was reached over the late Lisa Marie Presley’s estate following a nasty legal battle between her mother Priscilla Presley, and eldest daughter Riley Keough.
The Memphis manor was inherited by Lisa Marie after her father, Elvis Presley, died.

When the news of the settlement was first announced, Priscilla’s attorney, Ronson J. Shamoun, said that “the families are happy.”
“Everyone is happy, unified, together, and excited for the future,” he added.

Riley made a statement of her own through her attorney Justin Gould, who spoke with CNN: “She is very content.”
The whole saga comes after Elvis’ former wife launched legal proceedings contesting the validity of Lisa Marie’s final will, which dictated that Riley be the sole heir of the iconic property.
As previously reported by New Idea, a secret amendment made in 2016 to the will overrode the previous 2010 living trust agreement and ousted Priscilla as a trustee, along with Lisa Marie’s former manager Barry Siegel.
Instead, the updated will named Riley and her late brother, Benjamin Keough, as the co-trustees of Graceland. Yet, it appears Lisa Marie didn’t rectify things after her son passed in 2020. As a result, Riley is now the estate’s sole trustee.
Priscilla lodged her lawsuit to challenge the 2016 amendment just days after Lisa Marie’s sudden death on January 12th, 2023.
She insisted to media that the shock filing was an act of “integrity and love”. Sources add she had several complaints about the update, including that the signature “appears inconsistent” with Lisa Marie’s usual one.
Priscilla also cited spelling errors in the document and the fact it was never notarised or delivered to her, as required in the terms of the original trust.
Almost six months on, Riley has opened up about the “chaos” that had arisen following her mother’s tragic death, and the subsequent legal dispute with her grandmother.
“When my mom passed, there was a lot of chaos in every aspect of our lives,” the 34-year-old told Vanity Fair.
“Everything felt like the carpet had been ripped out and the floor had melted from under us. Everyone was in a bit of a panic to understand how we move forward, and it just took a minute to understand the details of the situation, because it’s complicated,” she continued.
“We are a family, but there’s also a huge business side of our family. So I think that there was clarity that needed to be had.”
The Daisy Jones and the Six actress then shed some new light on her current relationship with her grandmother.
“Things with Grandma will be happy. They’ve never not been happy.”
“There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything’s going to be how it was. She’s a beautiful woman, and she was a huge part of creating my grandfather’s legacy and Graceland,” added the actress of Priscilla’s late husband, Elvis Presley. It’s very important to her.”
“He was the love of her life,” Riley added.
“Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy. That’s her whole life. So it’s a big responsibility she has tried to take on. None of that stuff has really ever been a part of our relationship prior. She’s just been my grandma.”
