Patti Newton is joining the cast of Neighbours…but, not for long though.
The Australian icon will appear in one episode of the soap, with her character being killed off during the episode.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, the 73-year-old joked: “Obviously, they didn’t want me in an on-going role.”
Patti’s character is described as an “eccentric woman who lives a sad and lonely life,” before her sudden death.
“For an old dear like me, it’s nice to have a challenge and get out of your comfort zone,” Patti said.
