Our very own Olivia Newton-John shot to stardom after appearing in hugely successful musical Grease, alongside John Travolta in 1978. The film was a critical and commercial success, instantly becoming a classic, making Olivia and John household names.
However, when producers contacted the blonde singer regarding a sequel to the original film, she and John passed on the opportunity, forcing the filmmakers to hire Michelle Pheiffer and Maxwell Caulfield in their place.
Grease 2 was a box office failure and up until now, Olivia has remained mum on her feelings toward it.
When the 68-year-old appeared in Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he pressed her for her true feelings about the film, asking, ‘Be honest: What did you honestly think of Grease 2?’
‘Not a lot,’ the multiple Grammy award winner responded cheekily, making it clear she is hopelessly NOT devoted to the sequel. ‘Actually, I kind of remember they did ask [John Travolta and I]. They approached John and I to do it and then it didn’t happen. I didn’t think it was going to happen, and then they made it with other people.’
