McLeod’s Daughters’ star Zoe Naylor says she doesn’t vaccinate her children

'I treat my children homeopathically'

McLeod’s Daughters star Zoe Naylor reveals she doesn’t vaccinate her children

In a Q&A with Kidspot, Naylor says she opts for homeopathic treatments instead.

When asked what her stance was with vaccinating her children, Naylor  said she is pro-choice, ‘but it has to be an informed choice.’

Adding, ‘I personally treat my children homeopathically. So, I am doing something. But you can’t immunize and then go and eat McDonalds. You need a holistic approach to wellness. I have a homeopath, chiropractor, kinesioligist, and a medical doctor.

‘I go to the doctor when I need to, but since Sophia was born, she hasn’t seen a GP once and never has needed to. We’ve had very little illness in our home. I choose wellness in the way we all eat – we don’t eat wheat, we don’t eat refined sugar… except if we go to a party or something. We need to be realistic!’

As for the criticism anti-vaccinators are sometimes subjected to, Naylor says she doesn’t mind: ‘Everyone has an opinion. There is a lot of fear out there. I get it.’

‘If your kid is in daycare and there’s someone else who doesn’t vaccinate, you feel they’ve been left open, she said. ‘But if the mother of that child is homeopathically treating their child and looking after their overall wellness, you shouldn’t worry.’

The current immunisation schedule recommends children receive vaccinations 6 weeks, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and  4 years following their birth.

According to NSW Health, vaccination is the best way to protect your child from serious diseases. By vaccinating you are not only protecting your child, but the broader community. The people who vaccinate, the more we can control diseases.

Naylor married her husband and co-star Aaron Jeffrey in 2010. The couple have two children together. Last month the former actor spoke out about how she overcame her drug addiction.
