Married At First Sight‘s Lauren Huntriss took a break from posting her trademark makeup selfies and travel snaps to share a very important message about skin cancer.
Taking to Instagram, the MAFS star posted a series of three graphic photos showing the progression of a deep red circular mark on her nose to a large jagged scar after a biopsy diagnosed the growth as cancerous.

Lauren, who was married to MAFS virgin Matthew Bennett on the popular Channel 9 social experiment, told fans she assumed the spot was a pimple at first and picked at it the way you would a pimple.
But a few months later, the mark had grown and began to look more like a wart.
When the growth began to bleed Lauren booked an appointment with her dermatologist to discuss treatments for acne, which is what she believed the mark to be.
The consultant was alarmed by the “suspicious” spot and took a biopsy which confirmed the presence of skin cancer.
Lauren, who was just 27-years-old at the time, admitted she couldn’t believe the result.
Faced with surgery before the cancer became malignant, the reality star opted for MOHS, an advanced surgical technique where the doctor gradually removes tiny pieces of the growth.
After the operation, Lauren underwent flap repair to reconstruct her nose which was left with a gaping hole.
“I remember crying so much but then thinking far out I’m lucky I caught it when I did or I might not have a nose at all or even worse might not be here today to tell this story!
“I always try to look for the positives in every situation,” she wrote in the caption.
The makeup artist finished by urging people of all ages to be vigilant with their skin.
“Kids, adults and all the above PLEASE if you notice even the slightest change to your skin book in with a dermatologist ASAP! Don’t risk it, don’t wait or it may be too late.”
