Tennis star Lleyton Hewitt has been left devastated after the untimely death of his good mate Andrew Florent, the Australian doubles specialist who passed away last Tuesday at the age of 45.
Bec and Lleyton posted a tribute to the late star on their Facebook page, posting ‘RIP Flory. Thoughts are with the Florent Family during this difficult time.’
Survived by his wife Rachael and their two sons Ollie, 18, and Jai, 15, ‘Flory’ is being remembered as a charismatic, playful and fun-loving man, who fought on bravely after being diagnosed with bowel cancer in January 2013, which spread to his liver. Despite being told he had between three and 18 months to live, Florent put up a valiant fight, even competing in the legends’ doubles at the 2014 Australian Open.
