Real Housewives of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield has opened up about the struggles she faced following her split from her husband of 18 years, David, last year.
After her separation from former politician David – best known for founding the controversial One Nation party with Pauline Hanson – Lisa was forced to move out of their multi-million dollar home and faced hundreds of thousands in legal bills.

Speaking to News.com.au, Lisa admitted the situation was “awful”.
“All of a sudden, I didn’t have a roof over my head, I didn’t know where I was going to live.
“I never expected that to happen to me,” she said of her difficult financial situation.
The former reality TV star said while she always earned “good money”, she wasn’t savvy as David managed the financial side of life including making mortgage payments and arranging school fees for their sons, Bert and Harry.
“David always paid the bills and did the budget. We both had different skill sets – there was nothing untoward about it, but numbers bored me.”
The 44-year-old socialite sought support from her parents in the wake of her marriage breakdown and took her kids to live at their family home.
David and Lisa endured a tumultuous marriage in recent years, with the Real Housewives personality promising to leave him many times, Daily Mail Australia reports.
The couple, who appeared on the Australian franchise of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! together last year, often had bitter arguments in public.
Lisa famously told I’m A Celebrity hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris: “I will be speaking to a divorce lawyer. I feel like David is a boat anchor around my neck and after 17 years, I’ve had a revelation.”
The reality star eventually announced their separation in a Facebook post in February, writing: “Dear friends and family, it’s with a very heavy heart that I am announcing this.
“David and I will be getting a divorce. We aren’t sure what that looks like right now, but we do know that we are going to be the most epic divorced parents ever. Henry and Albert (Harry and Bert) will remain our top priority.
“We aren’t interested in being ugly about any of the details that go along with this kind of thing.
“Please: we ask for your kindness, prayers, and love as we work this out together. Also, if you have something to ay, please let it be out of love and words of encouragement.
“This is a very tough time. We aren’t interested in trying to bash each other and we ask the same from you. You don’t have to pick sides. Thank you.”
Lisa is currently dating businessman James Laws, known as Jimbo.
She shot to fame on now-defunct Foxtel reality series the Real Housewives of Sydney, alongside Athena X Levendi, Krissy Marsh, Matty Samuel, Melissa Tkautz, Nicole O’Neill and Victoria Rees.
