LEGO Masters Australia will see eight pairs of passionate creators let loose on The Brick Pit, where 2.5 million LEGO bricks await, determined to build staggering models and masterpieces that will leave you gobsmacked.
Work colleagues David, 33, and Gerhard, 52 (better known as ‘G’) are ready to unleash their mechanical skills for the grand win!

David, a workshop mechanical supervisor, and G, a mechanical fitter, work in the exploration drilling industry in Western Australia, which is demanding and requires great skill and attention to detail – Mirroring their LEGO hobbies.
The two were formed by their passion for LEGO. David had built a replica mini drill rig display which impressed his employers so much that it ended up on display in the foyer. G was equally impressed, and a friendship was forged.
G was first introduced to the brick at the age of six – with LEGO set 382 to be exact. David was seven when space police LEGO captured his imagination – the rest is history.

David is a proud father of two boys ages seven and five, he travelled extensively as an aircraft technician in the RAAF before settling down with his wife. Outside LEGO, his passions are the West Coast Eagles and his cars – building, modifying, showing and racing them.
David describes his style as technical, often featuring machinery, cranes, trucks and cars.
G, however, has a passion for old school “real world” works such as building houses, medieval villages, Western scenes and architectural structures with a real-life, figurative aspect.
Similar to his building partner, South-African born G also travelled extensively throughout his years, including to Antarctica in 1993 where he helped to build a scientific base for the South African government.
Having done a stint in the military in his youth, G worked in the mining industry, including diamond mining for De Beers, before relocating to Australia in 2007. The mechanic resides in Perth with his wife and enjoys going to the gym and building 1/87 scale dioramas with 12-inch action figures in his spare time.
These mechanical mates will bring their engineering nous, technical know-how and real-world eye for detail to claim that $100,000 prize!
