In Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim – who also shares North, Saint and Chicago West with her rapper husband – admitted that she was originally planning to name her son ‘Ye.’
Ye, for many who might not know, is Kanye’s nickname and Twitter name.
“Kimberly, how did you guys settle on Psalm?” Kris Jenner asked her daughter ahead of Psalm’s birth.
“Cause his name was gonna be Ye. Kanye doesn’t like Ye cause Ye doesn’t mean anything,” the KKW Beauty founder replied.
In fact, Kim’s sister Kylie Jenner also played a role in the Psalm’s name change.
Kim claimed the Kylie Cosmetics founder called her just as the new baby was arriving to say “No!” to the baby name.
“Psalm and Saint sound good together, and the kids call him now Psalmye,” the KUWTK star said.
Kris told ET Online that Psalm’s name comes from the Old Testament of the Bible.
Over the course of the year, Kanye has been hosting a Christian Sunday Service each weekend, which may have contributed to the rapper’s decision to name is son Psalm.
The marketing mogul said the name Psalm was “just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel. And he’s such a blessing, so it’s perfect. He’s just adorable.”
