The 65-year-old made a bold statement when chatting with The Daily Telegraph today, telling the publication that voting should be made by those in the TV industry first before opening it up to the public.
At the moment, the TV Week Logie Awards work off of a public voting system which allows for too many nominees and a messy voting process, claims Kerri-Anne.
“Having so many nominees this year, there were too many,” Kennerley told the publication.
“They should maybe be industry voted nominations and then open it up to the public and you do your best. They will figure it all out, there will be a million different ways to do it.”
The criticism comes after comedian Tom Gleeson won the coveted Gold Logie after a highly controversial campaign, which many in the industry labelled as ‘disrespectful’.
The Studio 10 host has been an outspoken opponent of the Gold Logie Winner, slamming Gleeson live on air the Monday after Tom won the gold gong on Sunday night when the comedian pulled out of his interview with KAK.
“You’ve turned into a winner now. And now you’re a wimp, you’re far too good for us little people, Tom.”
After calling Tom a ‘wimp’ Kerri-Anne then takes a swipe at the ABC.
“No, he’s too good for us. I know the ABC type. He’s now so far ‘there’ where he wants to be.
“Well, they are like that!”
