With a staggering $250m fortune and luxury mansions in every corner of the globe, there’s no denying that Keith Urban has struck it rich since marrying A-list star Nicole Kidman.
But while the chart-topping country singer lives the high life, surrounded by five-star comforts, the same can’t be said for his forgotten brother Shane, who friends say has been ‘abandoned’ by his superstar sibling.
Shane, a divorced father-of- two, works in administration at the local surf club and drives a beaten-up Toyota – a stark contrast to the $2.7 million Bugatti Veyron sports car his little brother uses as a runabout in Nashville.
And while Keith and Nicole have an enviable real estate portfolio, with properties in Nashville, Tennessee and the NSW Southern Highlands, Shane still resides in a modest $400,000 home in the town of Coolum Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast – where neighbours say they’ve never even seen Nicole or Keith pay a visit.
‘Keith’s family would never say it publicly, but they don’t like how Keith has basically abandoned them since he married Nicole,’ a source explains.
‘They know it’s her doing – she wouldn’t deign to come up to Queensland, what with all her fancy movie commitments overseas and rich family in Sydney.
‘The Urbans are just normal Aussies, and Nicole is a bit of a snob.’
