Katherine Heigl is the latest Suits recruit.
The Hollywood actress, 39, will join the TV series as a regular for season 8.
She will play Samantha Wheeler, “a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who challenges the status quo and will wither become the firm’s greatest ally… or most powerful enemy,” according to the press release from the USA Network.
The former Grey’s Anatomy actress will act alongside Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen).
The announcement comes just one day after it was revealed the series was renewed for an eighth season without Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle.
Both their characters, Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, will leave the show at the end of season seven.
