Karl Stefanovic’s Today colleagues Ben Fordham and Sylvia Jeffreys shared intimate photos from Karl’s commitment ceremony to Jasmine Yarbrough from over the weekend.
Fill-in host Ben Fordham congratulated the pair during a segment on the show, saying: ‘A big congratulations to our very own Karl Stefanovic. You may have noticed Karl is not here today.
‘He is on assignment for 60 Minutes this week, but he is also celebrating the fact that he held a commitment ceremony over the weekend with his fiancée Jasmine,’ he said.
Sylvia, who is married to Karl’s brother Peter, was in attendance at the ceremony and described the event as ‘beautiful’.
‘It was a beautiful day. A very small day, very low-key affair but really beautiful and very them,’ she said.
‘(It was) very full of love and full of laughter, and a very special occasion for the two families to come together and to share something so intimate. So, big love to them both, big love to the whole family, and we look forward to seeing him when he is back from his 60 [Minutes] assignment.’
Karl’s brother, Peter, also revealed on Weekend Today: ‘We had ourselves a little barbecue, a few XXXX Golds, Karl burnt the snags (as) usual. They are awesome people, proud of ’em.’
The pair got married in a secret commitment ceremony in Palm Beach, and was attended only by the immediate family and the closest friends of the 43-year-old Today host and 34-year-old shoe designer.
After the ceremony, a delighted Karl told The Sunday Telegraph: ‘We are very much in love. We clicked right from the start.’
