Blac Chyna has been officially denied the rights to the name Angela Renee Kardashian.

According to TMZ, the 28-year-old filed to trademark the moniker in December last year ahead of her marriage to Rob.

But following a bitter court battle with Kardashian sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, the mum-of-one has been barred from profiting from their family name – whether her pending nuptials go ahead or not.

This comes after claims the star, whose birth name is Angela Renee White, was planning to launch “entertainment services, make television and movie appearances, and live as a ‘social media celebrity and ‘party host’” under the new title.

In filed legal documents obtained by the publication, the trio’s lawyer states that they would “suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill” should the change go ahead.

However, a source close to the on-again, off-again couple – who share four-month-old daughter Dream together – say that there’s no negative intention behind the request.

“She wants to trademark the name because it will be her name when she gets married and she wants to protect it,” the source told PEOPLE.

“It’s also her daughter’s last name and she wants to share a last name with her daughter.”
