TV favourite Judge Judy has shared details of her painful divorce from on-again husband Jerry Sheindlin.
The pair, 73 and 82 respectively, dissolved their first union in 1990 after 13 years of marriage.
Following a year of separation, they tied the knot again one year later and have remained happily together ever since.

Speaking to America’s Closer magazine about the pair’s dark period, Judy said they had drawn strength from the heartbreaking experience.
‘It was war,’ she admitted of the period that followed their split. She also confessed: ‘I had to face some hard truths.’
But the pair were unable to live apart and have been inseparable ever since.
Reflecting on the good times Judy recalled their first meeting, when she demanded to be introduced Jerry in a New York City bar.

She said, ‘I took one look at this guy, and something moved inside me.’
Speaking about his own connection, Jerry added, ‘She is real, she’s grounded and she has this fabulous sense of humour.’
