Jennifer Aniston really is a good friend. The A-list actress has reached out to troubled singer and actress Selena Gomez to offer her support after the 26-year-old entered a psychiatric facility for treatment for mental health issues.
The actress shares the same agent as Selena and has grown close to the former Disney star over the years. “She is very protective of Selena,” an insider told HollywoodLife.

It seems their friendship started when Selena was just 16-years-old when she admitted to fan-girling Jen at the Women in Film Crystal and Lucy Awards. “I was shaking! I ran into Jennifer in the bathroom and she goes, ‘Hi!’ My legs started to shake and I ran. I didn’t know what to do because I freaked out.”
Then in 2014 Selena took to Instagram with a picture of her and Jen cuddling up together to declare her love for the Friends actress.
“I have not only been following her career as a fan since I was 8 and now get to watch her completely transform in her new movie Cake, I have gotten to have real conversations with such a real heart, made my entire year,” she wrote.
Jen confirmed the blossoming friendship at the premiere of Cake. “She’s just like a little cherub that I feel like I wanna take care of.” Jen said. “She’s been extremely supportive and wonderful.”
Selena then lent on the Friends actress when she discovered her ex, Justin Bieber, had got married.
Now with Selena getting help for her breakdown, Jen is making sure that Selena knows she’ll be there for her.
“Jennifer is an extremely caring person. It hurts her heart to know that Selena is struggling like this and she is absolutely there to offer advice and support,” a friend of Jen’s reveals. “She sees Selena like a little sister and is doing all she can to help her.’
