A former Home and Away actor accused of breaking a police woman’s nose in a drunken bar brawl in Sydney has tried to apologise for the alleged incident.
Irish-born actor and tradesman Keiren Noonan appeared in court via video link and started to offer an apology for his actions before his lawyer advised him it was in his best interest to remain silent, The Irish Sun reports.
Mr Noonan, 32, was drinking at a pub in Darling Harbour in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was asked to leave by venue security.
He refused the request and was approached by two plain-clothes police offers.

The aspiring actor, who appeared as Spike in five episodes of Home and Away, was reportedly “intoxicated” when he got into a “physical altercation” with police causing a female officer to start “bleeding from the nose” while the other arrested him.
Speaking from his holding cel at Surry Hills Police Centre, Mr Noonan attempted to give his version of events saying: “I would just like to say I’m really apologetic for what happened. I would never hit anybody especially not a female police officer.”
His legal aid representative cut across him warning “talking on the public record” would damage his case.
Mr Noonan has since been granted bail but has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, assault on police, resisting arrest, use of offensive licence and failure to quit a licenced premises.
