Experts believe Aussie actor Russell Crowe has ballooned to a whopping 122kg after decades of yo-yo dieting for movie roles.
Doctors warn that the 180cm-tall 53-year-old, who shot to the A-list playing a muscle-bound warrior in the 2000 hit Gladiator – is putting his body at serious risk of deadly health complications.
‘It increases the risk for heart disease, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and many other illnesses,’ New York-based Dr Stuart Fischer tells The National Enquirer. ‘[Yo-yo dieting] also stunts the metabolism permanently, making it harder to lose the extra [kilos].’
Russell himself, who regularly tweets about his cycling regimen, admits, ‘At my age, I have to watch everything I eat. If not, all hell breaks loose!’
