They’re been friends for years and starred in several movies together, but George Clooney appeared just as shocked as the rest of us upon hearing the news of his good buddy, Brad Pitt’s divorce.
Whilst making an appearance at an event at the UN headquarters in New York as part of the UNHCR refugee summit, a CNN reporter questioned a bewildered George about Bragelina’s shock split (pictured above – image courtesy of CNN).
‘All right, don’t shoot me on this last question. It’s a big story, you’re friends with both of them. Your thoughts, any thoughts?’ the reporter probed.
‘What’s that?’ George asked.
Realising the 55-year-old had no clue what he was talking about; the reporter quickly filled him in.
‘I didn’t know that. That’s… wow. I feel very sorry [for them], then,’ George answered, before revealing that was the first he’d heard of the divorce.
George’s apparent lack of knowledge of Brad and Angelina’s split would surprise fans given that they are such close friends.
In March, George revealed the pair were embroiled in a ‘prank war’, saying he had purchased a special gift for Pitt after he started driving a Toyota Prius.
‘I got a bumper sticker in the shape of a pot plant, that said, “F*** cops,’ and I put that on the back of his car, because there’s no way you’re not getting arrested with that’.
Continuing to express his shock at the news, George continued:
‘That’s a sad story, then. That’s unfortunate for a family… That’s an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that’.
