New footage has emerged of Dan Steven’s Pre-CGI Beast from Beauty And The Beast, and it’s left fans wondering how the stars made it through a single take without laughing.
The actor was obviously transformed into the formidable Beast with the help of motion-capture technology and CGI, rather than the traditional costume with hours of hair and makeup assistance.
Recently surfaced footage shows Dan in his bulky motion-capture suit and some bouncy platform shoes, escorting Belle (Emma Watson) down the castle’s golden staircase for that iconic ballroom scene.
According to People, the grey lycra “muscle suit” weighed 40-lb, and it certainly made for an interesting ~lewk~ in these behind the scenes videos:
We’re not sure how they kept a straight face, but we’re open to seeing the bloopers if Disney feels so obliged?
