Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson for president?

Following in the foot steps of Arnold Schwarzenegger

Former pro wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, hinted he was open for a White House run in the future after fans put together an article highlighting all the reasons he should be president of the United States.

He tweeted: “Cool piece on my I should run for President. Maybe one day. Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck.. (sic)”

In an interview with British GQ, The Rock admitted that running for political office—perhaps even president—is something he may consider moving forward:

‘I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out. I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.’

Johnson is not the only celebrity to be mulling a presidential run. Rapper Kanye West used the MTV Video Music Awards last year to say he would run for the White House in 2020.

Currently, The Rock is focusing on dominating the box office rather than the wrestling arena or political scene, with work going ahead on the new Baywatch film.
