As is tradition, Donald Trump and First Lady Melania handed out candy to trick-or-treaters at the White House to celebrate Halloween.
But there was one poor child who got more than they bargained for at the event.
WATCH: Moment a puzzled Donald and Melania Trump put candy on child’s head
As kids in costumes from cowboys to police officers, and even a mini Trump, lined up with their goodie bags outstretched, a smiling Trump and Melania were all set to place their lollies inside.
Or so everyone thought.
However the President and his wife seemed spooked when they were faced with an inflatable Minion.
And as the small child in the Minion suit approached the pair, instead of handing the treat to the kid, or putting it in the basket, Trump bizarrely patted the Minion on the head with the chocolate bar, and then left it on top of the costume.
Melania unsurprisingly followed her husband’s lead, and then two bars proceeded to slide off the child’s costume and onto the ground.
Whether they were joking, or actually forgot what they were meant to do with the treats, the video moment (watch it above!) has since gone viral.
Comments on Twitter ranged from users calling Trump and Melania “schoolyard bullies” to one observation that “They’re like robots trying to mimic humans”.
“Great, he can’t even Halloween right,” said one Twitter user.
“All they had to do was put candy in the bucket, that’s all,” wrote another.
“They are both clearly uncomfortable pretending to be human,” said another.
Just another grave mistake made by Trump.
Happy Halloween!
