‘I am curious to know if there’s anybody that started this path any earlier. You wonder if it’s past lives sometimes – is it from generations before me?’ the 31-year- old ponders.

Setting out to uncover just where her musical talent comes from, the Aussie superstar follows the trail of her great grandmother Florence, on her mother Lea’s side, and it’s not long before she stumbles upon a scandalous story of a love that defied convention.

From multiple cases of adultery to a child born out of wedlock – a stigma during the early 1900s – and a complicated family tree that includes connections to the Carlton Brewery, Delta can’t contain her emotion as the whole sordid story unfolds in front of her eyes.

‘I just didn’t have anything to go off when it came to what I referred to as the journey without the map,’ she admits.
