Delta Goodrem is returning to her roots.
The singer, who launched her successful acting career off the back of Aussie soap Neighbours – appearing as aspiring musician Nina Tucker from 2002 until 2005 – has joined the cast of House Husbands.
The 31-year-old will appear in the upcoming fifth series of the Channel Nine drama as Izzy Dreyfus – a reading recovery teacher at Nepean South Primary School.
‘I couldn’t be happier to join the amazing House Husbands family,’ Delta said in a statement released by the network. ‘It’s such a fantastic Aussie drama that I love – and my whole family loves – so I feel very lucky and cannot wait to get started.’
According to her bio, Izzy is ‘brilliant, beautiful and slightly tomboyish’, while the character both ‘excites and frightens everyone’!
‘Her audacious attitude is instrumental in diverting a threat to the Nepean South community that none of them see coming.’
Riding into town on her cafe racer motorbike, the character certainly sounds a far cry from prim and proper Nina Tucker!
Delta – who has just come off the back of her first win as a coach on The Voice – is the second big name to join the cast this season, hot on the heels of Packed To The Rafters favourite Hugh Sheridan.
