Claire Danes was left mortified at the Emmys today after someone got a little over-enthusiastic with the spray tanner.
With her skin glowing as she made her way up the red carpet, onlookers noted that she appeared to be turning even more orange by the minute.
‘It’s a shame because her gold dress would have been stunning against her natural skin tone,” a stylist was overheard saying backstage.
Others weren’t quite as constructive in their criticism, with some online commenters declaring that she ‘looks like Donald Trump’.
A source close to Claire, 37, tells New Idea that the mum of one was ‘extremely embarrassed’ when she caught sight of herself in a mirror later in the evening.
‘She’ll laugh it off eventually though. There was nothing she could do about it – she’s super busy and the day of the Emmys was literally the only time she could fit a spray tan into her diary,’ says the insider. ‘It’s a lesson learnt – next time I’m sure she’ll go for the natural look.’
