Television star Carrie Bickmore has opened up about her postnatal hell, admitting she felt ‘disconnected from the world’ after the birth of her now 16-month-old daughter.
The much-loved The Project host made the candid confession while she was discussing her reluctance to return to work after Evie’s birth in March last year.
Revealing she never thought she’d have another baby after son Ollie’s birth in 2007, following the tragic death of husband Greg Lange in 2010, Carrie says her daughter’s birth sparked a very different motherhood experience.
‘I loved being off with her. When I had Ollie, it was a different period in my life…I really needed to keep working. I don’t remember just stopping and being in the moment,’ she tells Mamamia of her decision.
‘But then with Evie, I was like: “OK, you never thought you’d have another one, so take time this time and enjoy it.”‘
