Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden’s marriage appears to be under strain following a huge public fight.
The rocker and the movie star didn’t appear to be on speaking terms when they were spotted in the street outside an upmarket Hollywood hotel .
An eyewitness said: ‘Things between them definitely seemed tense. Cam’s eyes were bloodshot, as if she’d just been crying over something Benji said.
‘They couldn’t have been in less of a party mood.’
The pair are said to have had difficulties for months, announcing to friends they’ve been having issues, and Cameron has been leaning on Nicole Richie – wife of Benji’s twin brother Joel – for help and advice to help her save her marriage.
A source added: ‘Cam thinks of herself as a wife – not a groupie.’
Another said: ‘Nicole’s trying to get Cameron to understand that these things come with marrying touring musicians. But at the moment Cameron’s fed up and ready to walk out.’
Cameron has recently admitted she has found being married harder than she realised and acknowledged it takes a lot of work.
‘I have learned all these things about myself that I wish I didn’t know,’ she said. ‘I wouldn’t have learned them if I didn’t get married. It’s like this double edged sword.’
