When Bindi’s grandfather Bob Irwin publicly declared he wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t invited to his granddaughter’s wedding, hints of a bitter family feud were apparent. Steve’s sister Joy Muscillo recently broke her silence on the matter.
Revealing to Daily Mail that she had lost contact with Terri and her two children, she explained that her husband, Frank, was walked out of the zoo by the widow when they worked there in 2016.
The alleged incident sparking the feud goes back to 2008 when Bob quit the business he founded in 1970.

Joy told the publication the situation was “very sad”.
“I keep away from all that,” she said. “It’s just very sad … family stuff.”
Joy also claimed she had been prevented from giving details due to a confidentiality agreement and remains tight-lipped about the incident.

Tensions rose between Terri and Bob on how Australia Zoo should be run after Steve’s tragic death in 2006.
“I want (Bindi and Robert, 15) to be able to do what they want from day to day, enjoy life, enjoy the animals, achieve things, without worrying about things that should never be presented to them,’’ Bob told The Courier Mail.
“Much the same as any other parent or grandparent, I would wish (Bindi and Chandler) all the best – which I do – and hope things go really, really well.”

Bindi recently admitted her and Chandler’s relationship has not always been easy.
“Our love story hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows. For years Chandler lived on the other side of the world. Long distance is never easy but as they say, nothing worth fighting for ever is,” she told Crikey! magazine. “There are always going to be things that tend to push against two people being together.

“You can’t lose faith though. As adults we wanted to make our relationship work, so we had to change the revolving door of distance.
“We didn’t want the long distance to push us towards a marriage commitment right away, we wanted to enjoy the now without pressure.
“Thankfully, things usually fall into place if you work for what brings you the greatest joy. Mum always taught me that I have to follow my heart. If something feels right, don’t give up on it. Ever, ever, ever.”
