So exciting! Bindi & Chandler are engaged!

And you won’t believe where they’re getting married…

It’s the photo that sent social media into meltdown – the moment Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell debuted her ‘engagement ring’.

The fun photo showed the young Australia Zoo favourite wearing a candy pop ring on her engagement finger with the caption: ‘When diamonds are out of your budget… buy ring pops instead!’ – and it prompted her legion of fans to wonder if Chandler had proposed.

But while Bindi and Chandler refused to confirm or deny the speculation, well-placed sources reveal to New Idea that the couple are ‘secretly engaged’, and are planning their top-secret wedding.

‘Chandler proposed a couple of weeks ago, but they’ve decided to keep it to themselves for the time being,’ a source at Australia Zoo explains.

‘But when International Diamond Day came up, they couldn’t help taking the opportunity to do a light-hearted post and do a pic with the pop rings. It was just a bit of fun – they’re not ready to debut the real engagement ring just yet!’

Bindi and Chandler are now reportedly busy planning their wedding, and have turned to close friend – and rumoured boyfriend of Bindi’s mum, Terri – Russell Crowe to help make it happen.

Insiders tell New Idea that they ‘love’ the idea of tying the knot at Russ’ Nana Glen estate in rural NSW, and have already approached the Oscar winner about making their wedding dream come true.

‘Russ would be only too happy to say yes,’ a source
 tells New Idea.

‘He, of course, married Danielle at Nana Glen, and it holds very fond memories for him in that regard.

‘Russ adores Bindi like a daughter and thinks Chandler’s a really great guy. He would love to have them celebrate their love at his home, with Terri by his side – he would make sure it’s a really special day.

‘He can really respect Bindi’s need for privacy. When he and Danielle married at Nana Glen, he went to a lot of effort to create marquees and pathways to keep it as intimate as possible. He would move heaven and earth to make sure it was the perfect wedding day for Bindi.’
