Billy Bob’s awkward run-in with Laura Dern at the Globes

The Twittersphere is meltdown after Billy Bob Thornton and Laura Dern were spotted in the midst of an awkward run-in at the Golden Globes ceremony yesterday.

Fans couldn’t help but notice Dern, 49, avoiding eye-contact with the 61-year-old as he walked behind her on the way to accept his award for Best Actor in a Drama TV series for Goliath.

After two years together, Thornton famously dumped ex-fiance Dern in 1999 in order to pursue a relationship with fellow actress Angelina Jolie.

“I left our home to go and make a movie and while I was away, my boyfriend got married and I never heard from him again,” Dern revealed to Talk magazine in 2000.
