As Bec Hewitt stepped out, looking visibly stressed, with her two daughters and boxes in tow, onlookers curiously wondered where the wife of Lleyton Hewitt was hurriedly rushing off to.

The TV host was spotted hauling boxes in the street with a slight pained expression and appeared somewhat downcast with Lleyton nowhere in sight.
Her daughters Mia, 13, and Ava, 8, followed dutifully behind their mother and appeared equally morose.
On the surface, Bec and Lleyton have the perfect marriage, yet rumours have always simmered that behind closed doors there’s tension in the household and that the two are prone to regular spats.
Last year, the couple were seen at the Melbourne Cup having a tense exchange and various outlets reported that the tennis ace had “grown tired of his wife’s demands”. Also around the same time, sources told New Idea that Bec was planning a career comeback after having put her acting on hold while Lleyton pursued his sporting profession. Yet just as she was planning negotiations with the producers her husband’s jealous meddling got in the way.
“There was a scene where Bec was required to slow dance with her on-screen husband and he said no to that,” says the source.
“As time went by, he got worse and people really had to consider if the movie could move forward with his involvement. Bec was great, but everyone knows he was going to be difficult,” the insider spills.
“The producers wanted Bec because she is talented and hasn’t worked in recent times,” says our source. “She’s a great actor and her return would have been celebrated. She was all for it, too, excited but still nervous, and said she would love to get back into acting.”
Yet since Bec became a mother to their three children – the couple also share 10-year-old son Cruz – her focus has been on raising her brood
as the primary caregiver while Lleyton focused on his work for the past decade.
“I would love to get back into acting,” Bec said in a previous interview. “Over the past 10 years, I guess it’s been a bit difficult as we haven’t been in one place at one time.”
But towards the end of the year, Bec announced her role as host of Hello World, leaving Lleyton to finally take on the house husband role.
“For a long time, it was all about being Mia’s mum or whoever, and you do lose your identity a bit,” she said before revealing how Lleyton will cope as daddy daycare.
“From a driving perspective, he will see how crazy it is as a one-person show,” she added.
“I think all dads are capable. He’ll just slot straight into the role and it will be fine. And everyone will be fine when I walk back in that door.”
But whether it’s all got too much for the pair is yet to be seen. Could Bec’s patience have finally run out?
