What Your Uber Passenger Rating Says About You

Ever wondered how many stars did Uber give YOU?

Anyone who’s used Uber at least once has come across the all-important ‘Uber rating’. It’s a simple rating scale for driver reviews: the more highly rated your driver, the better your Uber experience will be. A driver’s average rating can be affected by the smallest of things, which is why some Uber drivers go above and beyond for their passengers.

But did you know that these drivers also rate you as a passenger? In this article, we’ll be looking at how to find out what your rating is, what affects it, and why it matters.

How Can I See My Uber Rating?

Seeing your Uber rating wasn’t an option with the earlier builds of the app. Later builds required to send a request to check your score, which could take a while. Now, your Uber passenger rating is conveniently displayed right below your name when you tap “Profile” – much like how it appears on driver’s profiles.

If you’re running an earlier build of the Uber app and can’t see your rating, go file a request!

Go to the Profile Icon > Help > Account Settings and Rating > I’d like to know my rating.

It’s the same process on the iPhone and Android OS. If the “check my rating” option is missing, try contacting Uber’s customer support for help.

Why Does My Uber Passenger Rating Matter?

So what’s the big deal behind your passenger rating? It’s simple: it’s a guide for Uber drivers to expect what kind of passenger you are. Riding is a two-way street, and while you might want to get the best ride possible, drivers also want to get the best passengers that they can.

And just like how an Uber driver’s rating can affect how many passengers they can get, your personal Uber passenger rating will determine how likely are drivers going to pick you up. This system applies not only for solo rides but for rideshare services. And if you get Uber Eats, your passenger rating can affect that too!

So the higher your passenger rating, the more likely you are to get an Uber ride when you need it. There are also some other perks that Uber has talked about giving passengers with high ratings in the future, but they might take some time to get implemented.

How To Become A 5-Star Passenger

So, what is a good passenger rating anyway? Well, you generally want to keep your rating around the 3.9 to 4.8: a five is fantastic, four below is all right, three is risky, and anything below a two is abysmal.

If you want to increase your Uber passenger rating, here are some tips:

  • Always have a good pickup location. One of the most common complaints of Uber drivers is passengers that make them spend precious time searching for their pickup and drop-off points. Being concise about where you are and where you’re headed is something they’ll appreciate.
  • Watch the noise. Some chatting with your Uber driver is fine, but being a loud passenger isn’t just annoying – it’s dangerous. Drivers like passengers that’ll let them get from Point A to Point B in peace, and they can’t do that if you’re distracting them with noise.
  • Be easy to work with. Uber drivers avoid rude, aggressive, or late passengers like the plague. Always be on time at your designated pickup site, don’t make a fuss in transit, and cooperate with your driver if needed.

Happy Cruising

Having a good Uber passenger rating is a lot like dressing well in public – it affects how likely a stranger will be willing to associate with you! By all means, shoot for that coveted 5-star rating, but remember to put the work in keeping it that way!
