An unconfirmed US report has claimed that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ marriage has been ‘declared illegal’.
According to The Globe: “The papers had barely landed on the judge’s desk when the court declared Charles and Camilla weren’t legally wed.”
Their source also claimed that “after consulting with British government officials, the judge ruled their wedding violated the Marriage Act of 1836”.
Under such act, the Prince must marry in a church, but as the couple wed in a civil ceremony, there is no legal marriage, which means Charles can avoid any large fees should they divorce.
“This means Charles dodges a staggering $217 million divorce settlement,” the source alleged.
“He’s thrilled at escaping his ‘marriage’ with his fortune intact, but he also realises his troubles aren’t over. He knows how vindictive Camilla can be when backed into a corner,” the source added.
