The Queen’s summer holiday in Balmoral has officially begun, and to celebrate her first day on vacation Queen Elizabeth wore a weather-appropriate baby blue outfit.

Her Majesty was reunited with her favourite cheeky Shetland pony – named Cruachan IV – who infamously nibbled on her flowers during one of her visits to Scotland.
As is tradition, the monarch was greeted at Balmoral Castle by the Balaklava Company, part of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The Queen was dressed in a powder blue skirt and jacket with a matching hat.

The Queen has long adored her summer holidays in Balmoral, where she stays with husband, Prince Philip.
Her Majesty is often joined at Balmoral by other members of the royal family. Last year the Queen was joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton as well as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
No news yet as to whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will visit the Queen for baby Archie’s first Scottish holiday.
