Despite 71 years of apparently happy marriage, the Queen and Prince Philip have had their issues – including one horrible incident in which the outraged monarch tore trips off her husband in front of a guest.

Always one for a prank, Philip attempted to impress a guest by stuffing ono of the Queen’s beloved corgis into a cupboard. When Her Majesty asked where the animal was, her husband plated dumb, but was soon rumbled.
‘Philip hid a corgi in a desk cupboard and when the Queen asked him where it was, he said he didn’t know,’ a source told UK newspaper the Daily Express.
‘But then the dog whined after hearing the Queen’s voice, so Philip let it out and it ran to her.’

Far from seeing the stunt as hilarious, the Queen lost it – ripping into her husband for being cruel, and telling him to ‘stop showing off to guests.’
It was only after Her Majesty had left the room that Philip felt confident in striking back – which, apparently, he did.
‘Philip turned to the guest and said, “who does she think she is?”’, reports the Express’ source.
The Queen is well known for her love of corgis, although she has stopped replacing them when they pass on – determined that no one else in the family get custody of her precious friends after she passes. Perhaps now we know why.
