Gabriella, who is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, will wed this Saturday, UK time, with the palace announcing the following statement: ‘The wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Mr Thomas Kingston will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday 18th May 2019.’

While the guest list will include a who’s who of royals, including Her Majesty the Queen, British newspaper the Daily Express has intriguingly flagged the possibility that Eugenie might, mysteriously, be a no show.

The exact relationship between the women – who both chose St George’s Chapel as the venue for their weddings – remains shrouded in speculation, but the Express snippily notes that  ‘just like Princess Eugenie, Lady Gabriella is a non-working Royal, so both are able to dedicate their time to a career path of their choice.’

Whether a possible no show will be down to personal rivalry or simply clashing diaries, is unknown. But one thing is for sure – Lady Gabriella’s wedding will not have most of the pomp and ceremony that made Eugenie’s such a spectacle.

Unlike Eugenie, Gabriella’s wedding will not include a royal carriage procession around Windsor castle.
