August 31st marked the 21st anniversary of Princess Diana’s shocking and unexpected death.
In a resurfaced 2017 HBO and ITV documentary Diana: Her Life and Legacy, the world learnt about the grief and regrets Prince William and Prince Harry had held on to in the decades since their mothers passing in 1997.
In the documentary, Harry spoke about his memories of the final phone call he had with her and admitted, “If I’d known that that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother the things that I would – the things I would have said to her.”

Harry also revealed that, “There’s, you know, there’s a lot of – there’s a lot of grief that still needs to be let out,” and that, “There’s not a day that William and I don’t wish that she was still around”
“We wonder what kind of mother she would be now, and what kind of public role she would have, and what a difference she would be making”
