The Duke of Sussex is expecting his first child with wife Meghan Markle and he’s supporting her on her journey by giving up drinking!
“Meghan obviously cannot drink during her pregnancy and Harry wants to be there to support her,” a royal insider told The Sun.
But while his gesture may seem like the perfect thing to do, his former drinking pals aren’t so impressed and Harry’s social life has taken a downfall.
“When they are in London, they have been spending more nights in together as he cannot go out drinking with friends like he used to,” added the source.
The couple were last pictured enjoying a glass of champagne during a royal visit to Dublin in July.
But it’s not just Harry is giving up certain habits, Meghan too is giving up her vegan diet and will indulge in an iron rich steak now and then to help give their baby the right nutrients.
The news of The Prince’s sobriety comes days after the couple announced that they were expecting their first child while on the Royal Tour in Australia.
In an official statement from Kensington Palace, it was announced:’ Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.’
Days later, speaking to mathematician and Australian TV personality Eddie Woo, 33, at a reception at Admiralty House, The Duchess of Sussex said she and her husband are “excited” about becoming parents.
When he said that his own children – aged five, seven and 10 – require “a lot of energy”, she replied: “We’re ready! We’re excited to join the club.”
Prince Harry also broke his silence on the news of his impending fatherhood earlier in the day.
“We are both absolutely delighted to be here,” the Prince told assembled guests on Tuesday afternoon.
“We are really impressed to see you serving beer and tea at an afternoon reception in true Aussie style,” he said of himself and Meghan.
“We couldn’t think of a better place to announce the upcoming baby.”
