For the first time since 1953, The Queen didn’t lay the wreath at London’s Cenotaph on Remembrance Day. Instead Charles stepped up to take her place. However, sources claim that he wasn’t her first choice!

‘The Queen wanted her grandson, Prince William to do it,’ a palace source told Life & Style. ‘It would have sent out a strong message that he is the future of the monarchy.’

The Queen is getting older and she is turning her attention to the younger royals to ensure the future of the monarchy.

‘Elizabeth wants William to be the next king,’ reveals the source.

The British public have never been fond of Charles and Camilla, so the Queen has instructed Charles to abdicate, making William and his wife Catherine king and queen when she dies, claims Life & Style.

But, Charles is furious that his mother is overlooking him and he won’t give up without a fight! ‘There is no way Charles is going to give up the throne after waiting his entire life to take it,’ the source adds.

In fact, when Charles discovered that Elizabeth planned on giving William the Remembrance Day duties, he demanded that she give him the role instead, claims Life & Style.

This is creating tension behind the Palace walls and William finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

‘William feels torn between his father and grandmother,’ adds the source. ‘But he thinks it will sort itself out as time goes on.’
