Prince Andrew has reportedly ditched his daughter Princess Beatrice’s engagement party to avoid abuse from guests following his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
Beatrice and her real estate tycoon beau Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi hosted a star-studded engagement party in Marylebone in London last night.

James Blunt, singer Ellie Goulding, Robert De Niro and Robbie Williams were amongst the big names to make the guest list.
Beatrice’s mother Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson was also spotted attending, along with daughter, Princess Eugenie.
The Duchess of York, however, was noticeably absent after taking a step back from royal life, due to the uproar surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

A source revealed Andrew has opted to ditch the bash after things “turned far more toxic” in the past few months
The insider told The Sun: “This is a devastating blow for the Duke and a sign of just how bad things have got.
“The plan was always for him to attend Beatrice’s engagement party alongside Fergie.

“But things have just turned far more toxic.”
The source concluded that Andrew refused “to overshadow the event”.

Other guests at the lavish event included Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa Middleton and her husband James.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s brother James and his fiancee Alizee Thevenet were also snapped arriving at the event.

Meanwhile Bea and her beau are said to have consulted with the Queen who agreed to let the royal make her wedding date announcement in the New Year.
“Bea and Edo will finally announce their wedding date in the second week of January,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.
“The date has been described as “early summer”, just before the summer social season kicks off.”
Early summer in the UK means that we can expect the couple to say “I do” around early June.
