October 16 – Sydney
Meghan Markle stunned in a fitted white dress as she stepped out for the first time since announcing her pregnancy, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have held the first engagement of their first Australian tour at Admiralty House in Sydney.
Meghan Markle changed into a khaki button-down dress by Brandon Maxwell for the Governor General’s reception, which sold out online within minutes.
The dress retails for $2,555AUD.
Brandon Maxwell is an American fashion designer, director, photographer, and stylist who, since 2012, has acted as Lady Gaga’s fashion director.
Meghan accessorised her dress, which featured a pleated skirt, with nude shoes.
“Green is one of Meghan’s go to colours which looks sensational with her skin tone,” Fashion expert Donny Galella told New Idea.
“I love her casual swept up up do with signature loose strands of hair,” Donny told New Idea.
“The look is much like her wedding hair style.”
October 17 – Dubbo
Meghan Markle stepped out in Outland jeans for her first visit to Dubbo.
The Duchess of Sussex paired her black pants with a shirt by Maison Kitsune, boots by J Crew and a jacket from the Serena Williams collection.
She also sported a necklace by Australian designer Natalie Martin.
“Her smart casual look is very appropriate for where she’s going,” fashion expert Donny Galella told New Idea.
Donny also lauded Meghan for choosing an ethical designer for her jeans.
Outland Denim began when founder James Bartle had an anti-trafficking group, and then travelled to Asia and saw first hand how human traffickers prey on vulnerable young girls in order to service the sex industry.
After learning that once a girl has been rescued and rehabilitated, sustainable career path is vital for securing her future, James created the “Denim Project”, which would enable those girls who demonstrated an interest in sewing to put their new skills to use.
“This has taken Meghan’s choice to a whole new level,” Donny told New Idea.
October 18 – Melbourne
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Melbourne for a day of engagements including a walkabout in the grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens and a reception being given by the Governor of Victoria.
Meghan wore a navy blue dress by Australian brand Dion Lee for the third day of her and Harry’s 16-day tour.
She also wore a camel-coloured trench coat by Martin Grant and black stilettos.
“Love the navy pumps matched with the navy dress, so chic,” fashion expert Donny Galella told New Idea.
“Serious fashion points awarded for choosing Dion Lee, one of Australia’s top designers.
“Also nice to see her recycle the Martin Grant trench coat which she wore the other day.”
Later, Meghan changed into a $518 black Club Monaco dress under the same trench coat as earlier.
The dress featured gold buttons down the side.
“Meghan is paying homage to her Canadian roots by choosing a Club Monaco LBD,” fashion expert Donny Galella told New Idea.
“She paired with a sensible flat shoe by Rothys and the same chic trench coat she’s worn a couple times now.”
The shoes had a particular significance as they were made from recycled water bottles.

Fashion expert Donny Galella estimated the dress to be worth more than $2000 and noted that Meghan paired her outfit with “sensible” wedge shoed.
He told New Idea, “Meghan chose a long maxi dress by Martin Grant. It suits the beach vibes and bold vertical stripes are really trending at the moment.”
Later the Duchess underwent another outfit change – opting for a royal blue Roksanda dress worth $2,000.
The dress featured a pale blue hemline.
