The royal rule Meghan must follow before taking a toilet break

The list of royal etiquette is long!

Being a part of the royal family isn’t easy, especially where there’s an extensive list of etiquette rules that Meghan must follow. From ensuring that she’s dressed within the guidelines to keeping her chin parallel to the floor when walking down the stairs, it’s a lot to keep up with.

Another rule has now been revealed that reveals how a royal must act when they wish to be excused to use the bathroom at a fancy dinner party.

As reported by Mirror, a royal must never “announce their intentions” when they wish to leave the table to use the bathroom, and should instead simply say “excuse me” before leaving.

If Meghan wishes to have her food remain at the table while she’s gone of to the loo, she must cross her knife and fork, reported Business Insider

This serves as a message to the staff to not clear away the plate. However, if the meal is finished, the cutlery must be placed at an angle with the handles at the bottom right of the plate.
