Duchess Kate reveals Prince George and Princess Charlotte broke royal tradition this Christmas

Members of the royal family are expected to stick to a strict list of royal protocols, but it has now been revealed that when it came to Christmas time, Kate Middleton allowed her children Prince George and Prince Charlotte to break one of the rules.

Due to the royal family being of German descent, they ten to weave in a selection of German Christmas traditions into their celebrations. One of these traditions is to open their gifts on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas morning.

While Kate looked stunning in red as she appeared at the annual Christmas morning church service, she confessed to a well-wisher that her children had not stuck to the present opening tradition.

Instead, she revealed that her children had woken up “very early” that Christmas Day morning to open their presents.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were not in attendance at the church service dye to still being too young. 

Prince Harry was first photographed at the event at age seven, while Prince William attended at age five.
