A royal writer once dubbed Camilla Parker Bowles a ‘vilified mistress and a ‘dilapidated Yorkshire pudding’ in a shock outburst.
After news came of her affair with Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall was considered Britain’s ‘most hated woman.’
“She was the ‘evil Camilla’, she was seen as the person who was driving the wedge between the fairy tale princess and the Prince of Wales,” said Roddi Vaughan-Thomas a British PR executive.
But according to others Camilla has made a remarkable transformation.
“The transformation has been rapid and remarkable, but there is no denying it, and no turning back,” said royal writer Gyles Brandreth.
“In 2001, Mrs Parker Bowles was voted eight on the list of “Worst Dressed Women in the World” and told that she packed ‘the stylistic punch of a dilapidated Yorkshire pudding’.”
A Yorkshire pudding is a British pudding made from eggs, flour and milk and is often served with a roast dinner.
Yet that was all to change in 2005 when she was dubbed “the epitome of graceful, dignified style”.
“I couldn’t take my eyes off her, she looked marvellous”. Said Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
