Married At First Sight’s Troy Delmege has made viewers uncomfortable throughout the series on one or two occasions, but Tuesday night’s episode took the cake.
During the explosive episode, Troy is ‘excited’ about his date with wife Ashley Irvin’s mother, Stephanie.
In a piece to camera, Troy says: ‘I’m excited to see Stephanie. I did feel like I had a strong connection to her on the day of the wedding…The gene pool is very attractive, especially from the mother’s side.’
‘I think she is very attractive. She’s got beautiful hair, it looks like she’s spent a lot of money on the hair to get, like, certain highlights, and the colouring is so unique’.
The 35-year-old IT manager is later seen awkwardly flirting with Ashley’s mum, as viewers cringed.
The quirky character tells his mother-in-law, ‘If you don’t mind me saying, you do keep a very nice figure, Stephanie, you’re in great shape, by the looks of it.’
Stephanie appeared increasingly uncomfortable by Troy’s comment, saying: ‘I don’t think so.’
‘I think they say, like, as the mother goes, so goes the daughter!’ Troy added out, implying that Ashley will look great when she’s Stephanie’s age.
Viewers flocked to Twitter to respond to the uncomfortable meet-up.
