While we are led to believe we are watching real people with real friends and family, eagle- eyed fans have spotted some interesting coincidences.
With Nick Furphy’s ‘talent manager’ friend appearing at his and Sean Thomsen’s weddings, people are demanding answers.
‘Why was that guy at both weddings,’ a fan questioned. ‘Are they mates or is he their manager and they are both actors?’
There is no doubt that this year’s contestants have delivered week after week, making Married At First Sight the most explosive reality TV series in Australian history.
However, our spies reveal it was no accident so many ‘big personalities’, were cast in one season. We can reveal that many of the hopeful stars had auditioned for a previous series but didn’t make the final cut out of the producers’ fears their personas were too confronting.
‘These people were memorable that’s for sure,’ says the spy. ‘But at the time the producers were more interested in finding real couples and they just thought these people were too quirky.’
Desperate for a ratings success, TV bosses called back all of the stand-outs in the hope they were still single.
‘They contacted people from years ago but lots of them had moved on… but Nasser was still single and still keen to get among it. He actually auditioned in season two.’
